Running into issues while driving is a common issue. However, you don't always have to call a towing company. Sometimes you will be able to fix the problem yourself, but sometimes you will have to call a towing company. Determining when you actually need to call a tow truck is important to know. Here are five reasons to make the call:

1. If You Have a Rental Car: Most of the time, car rental companies are going to want you to have the rental towed to a specific location in the case of an accident. However, if the vehicle is still drivable and you aren't sure whether or not they require that you tow, then give them a call first. They may have you access the damages, take a detailed account of what happened, and still allow you to drive the car. But in some cases, they may have you tow so that they can access the damages right away on their own.

3. If You Have a Flat Tire: Of course, if you have a spare and the tools available to change the tire, then you can do this. However, if you find yourself without a spare, you should call a tow truck company that can tow you to a mechanic who can give you a new tire or the tow truck company can drive out to help inflate your tire for you. 
4. If You Need a Jumpstart: If your car needs a jumpstart and you don't have jumper cables or someone available to come to you and help, then you should call a ow truck company. They will have the jumper cables available and will be able to easily get your car back up and running.
5. If You Are Locked Out: If you have been locked out of your car, a tow truck company can help you to get back into your car. This is because they have the tools to get into slightly ajar windows and the tools to unlock a car as well. 

There are many reasons to call a tow truck company and, as you can see, they can provide more services than just a tow. So be sure that you consider calling one whenever you have an emergency.
